Scan ingredient lists to identify harmful chemicals banned in other countries but still used in India.
The EU bans 1,700+ substances in cosmetics. India's restricted list is far shorter, and enforcement is weak.
Legal status comes only from these documents, cited by part, annex and entry on each chemical: India, IS 4707 Parts 1 to 4 (BIS, 2020 to 2025); European Union, Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009, consolidated text of 1 September 2025; Japan, MHLW Notification No. 331 of 2000; United States, FDA Compliance Program 7329.001 (2016). No status for a country means we found none there, not that it is allowed. The health notes on 48 older entries are not from these documents; each lists its own references.

With API key (recommended): Your photo is sent to Google Cloud Vision, which uses AI to read text on curved, reflective and small-print labels with high accuracy. The image is processed and immediately discarded. Google does not store it.
Without API key: Uses Tesseract.js, which runs locally in your browser. It handles flat, well-lit text but struggles with the curved and glossy labels found on real products.
